Dr. Gunes M. Ecer Founder and President Prior to forming AppliedUS, Dr. Gunes M. Ecer spent 35 years working at several Fortune 500 companies (Westinghouse Research, Rockwell International, and Smith International) as senior R&D engineer, scientist, manager and director of materials research. He also served as the president of an R&D company developing a near net-shape powder metallurgy manufacturing method called the Ceracon process. Dr. Ecer’s studies began in his native country, Turkey. His career accelerated after he moved to the United States, where he spent several decades in the field of materials processing. His efforts to develop a soft-die, near net-shape manufacturing process for complex metal parts lead to the studies in 3-dimensional production of complex devices in the field of clean energy. His research interests include powder metallurgy, full-density consolidation of multi-materials, and the use of nano particles in engineering cavity formation as well as creating cavity-wall reactions. In addition to his 30 patents (and another one pending), Dr. Ecer has authored 35 technical publications and received 12 leadership and innovation awards, including 2 from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Dr. Ecer has also conducted six United Nations sponsored seminars in materials joining and automation at Istanbul Technical University, in Turkey. Dr. Ecer earned his Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering and materials science from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Zoltan C. Mester Vice President, R&D Dr. Zoltan Mester has a distinguished background in chemical and environmental sciences and is an internationally respected expert in statistical experimental designs and catalysis, crucial fields in the development of the next generation of energy devices. Dr. Mester started his professional career as an assistant professor at the Technical University of Budapest, Hungary, in the Department of Chemistry. In the United States, he has acquired extensive hands-on experience in science and engineering in industrial environmental issues, frequently involving environmental chemistry, polymers, and catalysis. He has experience with such well-known Fortune 500 companies as Unocal, Occidental Petroleum, and Fluor Company. Dr. Mester has authored numerous articles and has several patents in the fields of catalysis and catalytic cracking. Some of his publications concern energy conservation and the use of ethanol as a partial substitute for fossil fuels. He is also well known for developing methods of generating low- molecular-weight olefins for polymer production. He is a lecturer at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Irvine, as well as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Odyssey/Sail Venture Partners. Dr. Mester is also a former member of the California Trade Delegation. Dr. Mester obtained his master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Budapest and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Dorine Rivers, PMP Vice President, Business Development and Operations Dr. Dorine Rivers is a specialist in business organizations and systems. Her past consulting experience includes advising various small-to-midsize companies in profit maximization and how to achieve consistent MBO superlative-performance levels through replicable and scalable system development. She has vast experience in cost-control management using detailed budgets with variance management and accountability, supply cost cuts, smarter hiring practices, and streamlined processes. Her project-management and development skills include focusing on efficient work environments, systemizing processes, and training and motivating employees. She integrates complex problem- solution management with tight deadlines, often utilizing matrix statistical analysis. As a goal-oriented leader with a high degree of business acumen and discipline, Dr. Rivers has experience in negotiating contracts, managing budgets, legal and regulation compliance, and human- resource safety and compliance-assurance programs. Recently, she was an energy consultant for Green Monster USA, which uses the latest technology to reduce a family’s consumption of electricity, fuel, and other natural resources. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for the clean-energy industry drives her passion for AppliedUS. Dr. Rivers currently owns and operates River City, Inc.; Centipede Solutions, LLC (a product- development company); and SOS Business Consulting, LLC. She received her Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from the Fielding Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California, and has certifications in professional project management (PMP) and mediation and arbitration. Aydin Aksoy Plan & Systems Director Aydin has consulted or worked for several large industrial companies, including Belkin International in Playa Vista, California, where he is presently serving as a Supply & Demand Planning Manager. He designed various solid computer models as a solution provider. He has successfully implemented consulting, training and hotline support services for various customers. Other duties included demonstrations and lectured in universities on CAD/CAE/CAM systems and applications. He is an expert in the utilization of the I-DEAS software and automated business processes. Aydin has led a project team for Mellon Bank Global Trust Services that developed methodologies to predict required foreign currency transfers for custody operations. He conducted research on the “Software Applications of the Advanced Cost Management Techniques: Activity Based Costing”, “Organizational Learning Through Teams for Technological Innovation”, and “Concurrent Engineering.” Aydin obtained a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, later received a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He has a second M.S. degree from the same school in Technology Management. Advisory Board: The Company also has an advisory board of experts. |
